Rogers, AR - Matt Crafton, P.E. LEED® AP, chief operating officer at Crafton Tull Sparks, was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves. Crafton is a 1986 graduate of Rogers High School and graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor of science in civil engineering and the University of Texas with a master of science in engineering. His professional military education includes the U.S. Air Force Squadron Officers School and the U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College.
At the ceremony, remarks were made by the Honorable John Boozman, United States Congressman, and Colonel Steve Womack, who is also the Mayor of Rogers, presided. The event was held at Rogers City Hall.
Crafton’s eight years as an active duty Air Force officer included engineering assignments at Eaker AFB, Arkansas; Hurlburt Filed, Florida, and Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley AFB, Virginia. He currently serves as an Admission Liaison Officer to the U.S. Air Force Academy, evaluating and counseling candidates who are seeking admission to the Academy and works with the Arkansas 3rd Congressional District office to recommend candidates for nomination.
Crafton has been a member of Crafton Tull Sparks for 10 years. He is an active member of the American Council of Engineering companies and serves as the vice president of the Arkansas board. In 2002 he was named young Engineer of the Year by the Arkansas Society of Professional Engineers and has served as chapter president. In 2000 he was named to Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list.
