New I-540 Interchange at Promenade Blvd. Opens
A Crafton Tull Sparks Design

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 12, 2008 to officially open the new I-540 Interchange in Rogers, Arkansas.

This $17.1 million project is designed to improve safety and access to Interstate 540, which carries 60,000 vehicles each day. The new interchange provides added convenience, while completing a major milestone for the city of Rogers.

“The City had a vision and a mayor dedicated to achieving it,” said Mike Burns, vice president of Transportation for Crafton Tull Sparks, who provided engineering on the project. “The Mayor’s direction was to create a unique entrance to the city, with minimal cost.”

The successful completion of this project required close coordination with the City of Rogers, Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, Federal Highway Administration, Corp of Engineers, FEMA, Mercy Hospital and area private developers.

“We’re very proud of the work our transportation design team did,” said Matt Crafton, chief operating officer of Crafton Tull Sparks. “It’s a signature project for the City of Rogers and northwest Arkansas and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of creating a beautiful city.”
