Shane Fernandez, Tulsa's Young Professionals immediate past Chair, received a state citation for his service to TYPros. The proclamation was granted to Fernandez as he exits his term as Chairman of TYPros and recognizes the on-going efforts of the organization to show strength and leadership in Tulsa.

Shane led TYPros through numerous milestones in 2008, celebrating the exciting membership benchmark of reaching 5,000 members, launching a new website and increasing emphasis during the year on issues of diversity, downtown development and sustainability.

“Our goal is to promote Tulsa and what it has to offer to young professionals looking to make it their home,” Fernandez said. “The growth of our organization is a positive sign for Tulsa as the role of young professionals is vital for in ensuring a solid future for Tulsa’s economy.”

Signed by witness, Representative John Trebilcock, the Oklahoma Legislature presented Fernandez with a citation recognizing “his efforts as 2008 chair of Tulsa’s Young Professionals, one of the premier young professionals groups in the country and has made outstanding contributions to the Tulsa metro area in both professional and volunteer work,” as stated in the citation.
