| Our team of walkers joined in with nearly 46,000 other participants for Little Rock’s annual “Komen Race for the Cure.” As we crossed the Broadway Bridge we looked down at the river and saw one of our co-workers participating in the “Paddle for the Cure,” where people in canoes and kayaks rowed up the Arkansas River to cheer and support the women who walk. Our team exceeded our goal of raising $150, which will pay for a mammogram for someone in need. It was a very motivating event and I encourage everyone that can to participate next year. It’s like nothing you could imagine! We also participate in Share Fest, a community outreach program to collect coats and food. Items collected are distributed the week of Thanksgiving. In addition volunteers clean, paint and serve meals at a local college. We love it when our kids get involved too. The nine-year-old son of one employee told his dad he wanted to participate in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon® “to help the kids.” After scoring a perfect score, he turned in $270 for St. Jude’s. |
