Barnes Elementary - Owasso, OK
For this project, Owasso Public Schools aimed to accommodate more students and replace what was, at the time, their oldest elementary building. The mission of the school was to be one of the finest elementary schools in Oklahoma with a curriculum that has expectations in academics and in developing great citizens. At approximately 90,000 square feet and boasting 33 classrooms, the new Barnes Elementary facility is unique in its design. The four wings of the school radiate out from a central area that houses the administrative offices, cafeteria and media center. The “citizens” that will attend Barnes Elementary are treated to an interior designed around the concept of a town. The entrance to the school reflects a downtown area while the four wings reflect neighborhood themes. The hallways are even adorned with street lights.
