Union Multipurpose Activity Center - Tulsa, OK
Crafton Tull Sparks provided architectural and interior design services for the Union Multipurpose Activity Center (UMAC). Included in this 150,000 square foot facility is the John Q. Hammons Arena, which was designed to seat 5,660 in stadium-style seating or retract to approximately 2,800 fixed seats. Designed to be multifunctional, floor space in the arena can be used for intramural sports, band concerts, banquets, trade shows, student gatherings and competitive sports. Additional spaces in the center include break-out areas, ticketing, a spirit store, concessions, restrooms, storage, offices, lockers and meeting rooms. The UMAC also houses the Southcrest Wellness and Sports Medicine Center, which provides cardiovascular, strength and conditioning facilities, an indoor running track, aerobic exercise spaces and health-style programs for the students, staff and the community.
