Chickasaw Honor Garden
Crafton Tull provided engineering and landscape architecture services for the Chickasaw Nation Honor Garden, a part of the Chickasaw Cultural Center. The garden honors individuals inducted into the Chickasaw Nation Hall of Fame. Our landscape architects design uses natural elements such as rock, granite, and copper. Plant species selected from the ancestral beginnings of the Chickasaw in Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee complement the natural elements while using native and adapted species to provide as much year-round color as possible. The four directions and spiral symbols indicative of traditional Chickasaw culture served as the inspiration for the architecture and unique sidewalk design. The peaceful garden invites visitors to stop and reflect on the history of the Chickasaw people and commemorate each inductee honored.
