Highway 65 Bypass - Pine Bluff
Crafton Tull, as part of a joint venture team, provided surveying, preliminary and final design of all roadways, all hydraulic calculations, as well as the design of drainage structures for the Highway 65 Bypass in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. This 11-mile, four-lane bypass crosses four minor arterial streets, a railroad, and four streams with twin-line bridges composed of pre-stressed, precast concrete beams with substructures of pile-supported, reinforced concrete bents or trestles. The project design included six split-diamond-type interchanges with twin mainline bridges set between two terminal interchanges. Culverts as large as 10’ x 10’ cross under the main lanes and service roads.
