Barnes Elementary

Owasso Public Schools hired Crafton Tull to provide design services for the replacement of what was, at the time, their oldest elementary building. The school’s mission was to be one of the finest elementary schools in Oklahoma through academics and civic responsibility. At approximately 90,000 square feet housing 33 classrooms, the new Barnes Elementary facility offers a unique design. Four wings radiate from the central area housing the administrative offices, cafeteria, and media center. The school's entrance features decorative elements symbolic of a downtown area, with each wing representing a neighborhood. Hallways decorated with street lights and a suspension bridge leading the way to the gymnasium, build on the design concept.
