Rogers High School Athletic Complex

Rogers School District hired Crafton Tull to design a new athletic complex in the style of the adjacent high school the firm designed eight years prior. Using concrete piers to support the home bleachers minimized cross-bracing, which allowed for the placement of concessions and restrooms under the bleachers. The use of an interlocking decking and integral drainage system created a protected concourse. The turf has sand ballast in addition to the rubber infill as well as a full subsurface drainage system. Track curbs in the D-zones are flush trench drains. Eight-foot berms located on the outside corners of the field serve to accommodate overflow seating. Motion sensors control lighting in the Fieldhouse. Given the size of the site and the power requirements for stadium lighting, Crafton Tull performed a feasibility study to minimize the amount of wiring required and optimize operating efficiency.
