Sherman E. Smith Training Center - Stillwater, OK
Located just north of Boone Pickens Stadium, this multi-sport facility will provide a relatively low cost, wide, clear-span, weather proof structure and a climate controlled venue for activities. OSU's practice playing fields and sports surfaces will be protected in order to maintain consistent training and competitive development without combating Oklahoma's unpredictable weather. The facility will be a permanent structure that will accommodate practice spaces for use by the university’s teams for a variety of sports including: football, soccer, baseball, softball, and track and field. Support spaces include an entry lobby, men's and women's toilet facilities, sports medicine, a food pantry, and indoor observation mezzanines at both north and south elevations. Other features include a combination of a direct/indirect lighting system tthat provides optimum lighting conditions at the field level and an underground tunnel to Boone Pickens Stadium.
